Books Wanted We
wish to purchase good quality Second-hand, Antiquarian and Rare Books on most
subjects, in any quantity - from good single items to complete
libraries. E.g. books on the
following: Art,
Architecture, Archaeology, Aviation, Children’s and Illustrated books,
History of Science & Medicine, Leather bound books and sets,
Literature/Poetry, Local History/Interest, Maritime, Military, Motoring,
Natural History, Philosophy, Transport (Railways, Canals etc), Topography,
Travel etc. etc. For
the more valuable (i.e. auctionable) antiquarian
and rare books we aim to pay auction prices with the aim of saving the seller
the auctioneer’s commission/insurance and other costs, and ourselves
the buyer’s premium – (about one third of the value can be
absorbed in commission/costs when selling at auction). For
books with a difficult or unpredictable market we can arrange to sell on a
commission basis for you. We
buy good, clean paperbacks, depending on our current stock levels. We
buy most items that are reasonably saleable but generally not the following
types: Encyclopedias (except possibly recent Britannicas
and any of antiquarian interest), Readers Digest condensed books, Book club
fiction such as World Books. We
will endeavour to
answer any emails but cannot guarantee to do so. We do not normally give free valuations by
email. |
